Heroic bystander disarms gunman during deadly Bondi Beach shooting in Sydney that killed 12 people during a Hanukkah event, as leaders praise bravery and police continue investigations.

A man has been captured on video tackling and disarming one of the suspected shooters during the deadly attack at Sydney’s Bondi Beach, where 12 people have been confirmed dead. According to local media reports, the man has been identified as Ahmed el Ahmed, a 43-year-old fruit shop owner. Reports say Ahmed grabbed the gun from one of the alleged terrorists and was later shot in the leg and shoulder by another attacker. He has since undergone surgery and is currently hospitalised. Authorities have not yet officially confirmed his identity.
